Hitomi Instruments
Hitomi carries 2 types of telescopes, Soft X-ray Telescope(SXT-S, SXT-I) and Hard X-ray Telescope (HXT), and 4 types of detectors, Soft X-ray Spectrometer (SXS), Soft X-ray Imager (SXI), Hard X-ray Imager (HXI) and Soft Gamma-ray Detector (SGD).
Hitomi (ASTRO-H) is capable of observing a wide energy range of 0.3 - 600 keV by uniting the multiple observing instruments. The detector sensitivity achieves 10 to 100 times that of Suzaku. The cutting edge instrument, SXS, is the “X-ray micro-calorimeter,” which had achieved the highest energy resolution ever in the 3-10 keV band.
