Operation Section

longitude When there is a mouse cursor in the image display area this will switch the longitude between degrees [deg] and hours:minutes:seconds [hms] values. Depending on the coordinate settings, this will change the values from coordinates in the galactic coordinate system to the equatorial coordinate system.
latitude Similarly to the above, this will switch the latitude between degrees [deg] and degrees, minutes, and seconds [dms]. Depending on the coordinate settings, this will change the values from coordinates in the galactic coordinate system to the equatorial coordinate system.
Constellation When there is a mouse cursor in the image display area this will show the constellation(s) contained within that point.
+button Expands the astronomical image display area.
-button Shrinks the astronomical image display area.
reset button This redraws the screen to set the latitude to 0 degrees, the longitude to 0 degrees, sets the screen to minimum magnification, and orients north as up. This action does not reset the coordinate system.
coordinate Select from the galactic coordinate system and the equatorial coordinate system.
Show Information Check Box Switch between displaying and not displaying the information list. When this is checked the program will show the information list display area. The program is initially set to show the information list display area.

Permalink Display Area

This will set a URL that will re-create the current astronomical display status.
Use the "Copy Link Address" or similar function in your browser to copy the URL to the clipboard.

Astronomical Image Display Area

The astronomical image displays the display items (layers) created on top of one another in the browser.

Mouse Operations Movement When the mouse is moved the constellation name associated with the longitude and latitude will display in the operations area.
In addition, if the mouse enters the middle of the FOV (rectangular or circular) then the survey name will appear as a tooltip.
At the same time, the background color of associated links in the information list display area will change.

(Information List Display Area)

Drag The following two processes occur when the image is dragged.
While dragging the display image will move parallel.
The center of the image when the mouse button is released will be projected as the new center and the image will be redrawn as necessary.
Double-click The image will be redrawn to be centered where the double-click occurred.
Wheel You can magnify and zoom out by using the mouse wheel.
Clicking on Full Screen Icon
If you click on this icon in the upper-right the astronomical image area will fill the full browser window.
Clicking on Aladin Icon
If you click on this icon in the lower-right the Aladin Lite website used for the astronomical image will be shown.

Display Item Selection Area (except Suvrey image Data)

Select the items to be displayed in the astronomical image display area (with the exception of the FOV and associated survey images).
The items that have their checkbox checked will be shown in the astronomical image display area.

SIMBAD Progressive Catalog Display the SIMBAD catalog onhttp://aladin.u-strasbg.fr/glu/GluBrowser.pl?frame=d&p=B-simbad.hpx
Constellation Displays borders of constellations. Only when this is selected are the constellation names displayed in the operations area for wherever the mouse is located.
Aladin Healpix Grid Display the HEALPix Grid.

Display Item Selection Area (Survey Image Data)

Select the display of survey image data and its associated FOV that are shown in the astronomical image display area.
Only the items with a checked checkbox will be shown in the astronomical image display area.

The survey image data can be layered on the bottom or top.

Time Series Data Display Control

This dialog box appears when you choose to display time series data.
This dialog box will not be shown when time series data is not selected in the display item selection area for survey data.

<- Switch to the data set before the current one.
-> Switch to the data set after the current one.
Start Press this to begin automatic playback. The button will change to display the Stop button.
Stop Press this button to stop automatic playback. The button will change to the Start button.
Play Slider Change the speed of playback with the slider. The left side is slow and the right side is fast.
Slider You can directly control the display time of the time series data with the slider. The left side is further back in time while the right side is for more recent time.

External Website Search Area

Select the coordinates and search scope and click the link to search with your selected specifications. The below websites work with these links.

pos, coord The position (longitude, latitude) and coordinates for the center of the search are displayed. When you click on the astronomical image display area the coordinates you click will become the center of the search.
radius edit box Enter the scope (in degrees) of the search.

In addition, if you click on it will read the catalog information of the search results in the astronomical image. The icon will be displayed on the catalog source coordinates on the astronomical image. The source name will display when you move the mouse cursor over this icon. In addition, if you click the icon it will perform a search with the source name on the external website. The only catalog information that can be read is from "NED" and "SIMBAD" The catalog information cannot be displayed for both websites simultaneously.

FOV Display Selection Area

Clicking on the circle or text controls whether the FOV is displayed or not displayed for the associated FOV item in the display item selection area for survey data.

Selected Status The text will be bold and the icon will be as large as the text.
Not Selected Status The text is displayed normally and the icon is smaller.

Transparency Settings Area

With the exception of the Aladin HEALPix Grid and top survey image data in the astronomical image display area, this modifies the transparency of figure data such as each FOV, constellation boundary lines, and SIMBAD catalog icons.

Top Image This sets the transparency of the survey image data selected to be shown on top. Moving the slider to the left side will cause the top image to become completely transparent.
Graphic This sets the transparency of figure data such as each FOV and the constellation boundary lines. Moving the slider to the left side will cause the top image to become completely transparent. However, the transparency of the Aladin Healpix Grid cannot be modified.

The samples below show the effects of transparency.

Initial status.
Graphic transparency (slider on the left).
The above with the top image transparency set to 50% (middle of the slider).

Information List Display Area

This displays information lists including data such as astronomical data that is displayed in the astronomical image display area.
This is not shown by default. This will show when the "Show Information" checkbox is checked in the operation area.
Survey data from "SUZAKU" and "ASCA" is shown here.

The information is shown for each survey device in the format of [Survey Time ID (Name)]. To change the survey device displayed, click on the tab that shows the survey device name you would like to be displayed.
When you move you cursor over it, an icon will be displayed in the middle of the associated survey area in the astronomical image display area.
