Fe fluorescence is produced by illumination of the photosphere by ionizing coronal X-rays and its intensity depends on the height of the X-ray source. We propose to observe Fe fluorescence in the single G-type giant HR 9024 and in the active RS CVn system II Peg to obtain a direct geometrical constraint on the scale height of their coronal structures. These two stars have the brightest Fe fluorescence features of all the late-type stars observed by the Chandra-HETGS and their different stellar parameters (stellar radius, gravity, multiplicity,..) and evolutionary stage will allow us to probe the typical coronal scale for significantly different conditions.
