Summary

This archive contains images and data of asteroid Ryugu , together with tools, or pointers to tools used to produce the data. This archive prepared to reproduce the results presented in the paper "The geomorphology, color, and thermal properties of Ryugu: Implications for parent-body processes" by Sugita et al. (2019). It is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied.

2. Script and tools internally developed for PCA analysis by the authors

2.1. Code

The main program to compute and visualize PCA from the main belt asteroids spectra of SMASS2. This also shows the plot of distribution of Ryugu surface spectra in the principal component space of C-complex asteroids shown in SM5.

The main program file for JuputerNotebook.


2.2. Input files

The C-complex asteroids spectra in ONC-T wavelengths.

Columns corresponding to b, v, Na, w, and x band reflectances normalized at each v-band value.

All the smass spectra and taxonomy classifications.

Columns are ast_num=asteroid number, prov=provisional name of asteroid, tax_bus=taxonomy classification by Bus and Binzel (2002), tax_bd=taxonomy classification by Demeo et al. (2009), smass=source of discrete spectra (smass or smass2), (b,v,Na,w,x,p)=reflectance spectra normalized at v-band (-999 is N/A).

Ryugu surface spectra observed from altitude of ~20km from b to x bands. The spatial resolution is ~2m.

Columns corresponding to b, v, Na, w, and x band reflectances normalized at each v-band value.

Version of the software used for analysis: Python 3.6.7, numpy 1.16.1, matplotlib 3.0.2, scikit-learn 0.20.2, pandas 0.24.1.
