Our knowledge of the X-ray spectrum is limited due to the characteristic low luminosity in this state. Here, we propose a 40 ks observation of the most luminous quiescent stellar mass black hole GS 2023+338 (V404 Cyg). These observations will allow us to detect hard X-ray emission from a quiescent stellar mass black hole for the first time, providing unique contraints on the nature of the accretion flow in this low luminosity state.
