Ginga and ASCA observations reveal a hard emission component, interpreted as arising from shock-accelerated electrons, making this the oldest SNR in which shock acceleration has been found. Recent reanalysis of the ASCA data leaves ambiguity about the existence of this component. The importance of understanding the evolution of shock acceleration in SNRs makes vital confirming the existence of the hard component and localizing it. We propose 50 ks XIS observations of 3 locations to localize the hard component. Given its angular size, lack of small high contrast features, 0.4 keV thermal component with strong lines, and hard component, G156.2+5.7 is an ideal Suzaku target.
