The first for 30 ksec on January 6, 2008, the second observation is on January 25 for 100 ksec, when the comet is at perihelion, is 0.479 AU from the Earth, 1.03 AU from the Sun, and has a solar latitude of -20.3 degrees, i.e., when it is located in the transition region of the solar wind. These observations will be simultaneous with the Solar Wind Ion Composition Spectrometer measurements of the Advanced Composition Explorer and the Ulysses satellite.
