Characterizing and modeling SWCX emission requires understanding the distribution of neutral material in the magnetosheath and heliosphere, the properties and distribution of the solar wind, and the interaction cross-sections. We propose a multi-year monitoring campaign to measure and characterize the SWCX properties. The results will be used to verify and improve models of SWCX emission, an invaluable tool for the proper analysis and interpretation of data from current and future X-ray missions.
