   NGC4636 is a high luminosity galaxy that has been well studied with
   Einstein and ROSAT. ROSAT data shows indications of temperature
   gradients and also multi-temperature components and/or unusuallylow
   abundances. This is therefore a prime target for gainingunderstanding
   about the ISM in ellipticals and for measuring thebinding mass.
