   QSF3 is a field surveyed optically for quasars by Shanks et al. Deep
   ROSATobservations of this field showed that many of the weak (1e-13 -
   few X 1e-12)sources detected by ROSAT are quasars with a redshift
   distribution similarto optically-selected QSO. 22 optical QSO are in
   the SIS field (and more inthe GIS field) of which about 9 have been
   detected above 4e-13 with theROSAT PSPC. The ASCA observation should
   immediately enable us to explorethe 0.3 - 10keV spectra of QSO as a
   function of optical magnitude and redshift.
