    We propose observations of four X-ray binary systems: Cir X-1,V4134
    Sgr, LMC X-1, and GX 9+9. We hope to study the spectra and temporal
    variability of these systems and will obtain important information on
    X-ray spectral line formation, absorbing material in X-ray binary
    systems, ultrasoft spectral humps, spectral state variability, quasi-
    periodic oscillations, periodic spectral dips,and X-ray bursts.  We
    have specifically chosen targets about which there are important
    unanswered questions that may be addressed effectively with ASCA.
