****************************************************** PR # 11049 Composite SNR have shell-like radio morphology but appear center- filled in X-rays.X-ray emission is thought (or in some cases known) to be thermal, themorphology possibly due to the evaporation of dense clouds in the SNRs: W44,MSH 11-61A, and MSH 15-56. A 40ks exposure is requested per object. The observational goals are: i.)map the temper- ature, density, snd metal abundances,using NEI models, to as high a spatial resolution as can be accomplished in an ASCA exposure; ii.)determine the consequences of varying line of sight absorption on their morphology; iii.)compare the information thus obtained with the evaporation models to infer the degree of validity of this model. ******************************************************
