****************************************************** PR # 11112 We propose that the two most luminous galaxies found in the IRAS survey are observed with ASCA. Both show high excitation optical emission lines and a polarized continuum which suggests that they both contain powerful quasars. They are among the most luminous objects known. If there is an X-ray emitting quasar in each object which is not visible at other wavelengths due to obscuration then it should be directly detectable above a few keV where photoelectric absorption becomes less important. ******************************************************
