    We propose ASCA observations of three clusters of galaxies which are
    targets for the Sunyaev-Zeldovich (SZ) effect: Abell 586, Abell 1413,
    and Abell 1704. ASCA data will allow the temperature and density
    profiles of these clusters to be determined. This will be essential
    to interpret the improved SZ decrement radio data to be obtained from
    the OVRO or the Ryle telescope.
