****************************************************** PR # 11180 We propose to observe 3 very luminous clusters of galaxies in the redshift range of 0.1 to 0.3 found by soft X-ray imaging (ROSAT and EINSTEIN). They all have luminous optical line nebulosities around the central galaxy and are expected to be massive cooling flows. Our ROSAT images confirm that they are strongly peaked. ASCA data will spectrally image the cooling flow from the rest of the cluster and enable us to determine the full X-ray properties of the flow (mass deposition rate, abundances, gravitational profile etc) and of the outer parts of the cluster. Comparison with lower redshift cooling flows will begin to show how cooling flows evolve. ******************************************************
