****************************************************** PR # 12032 Lynds 1551 is a small star forming cloud in the nearby Taurus-Auriga cloud complex. It contains $\sim$20 T Tauri stars (both classical and weak-lined), several embedded protostars, bipolar flows and Herbig- Haro objects, and one young B star. The proposed field hasa dozen widely separated soft $ROSAT$ PSPC sources and was probably detected in 2-6 keV X-rays with $HEAO-1$. The proposed $ASCA$ images will detect X-rays from deeply embedded protostars and T Tauri stars, confirm and study the hard X-ray component of T Tauri stars, and give high-resolution X-ray spectra to test multi-temperature models from magnetically active young stars. ******************************************************
