****************************************************** PR # 12084 AB Doradus is a rapidly rotating southern K1 star known to be highly active at X--ray, UV and radio wavelengths. We propose observations with ASCA to study the X-ray line spectrum of AB Doradus and to search for a nonthermal component in the higher-energy (above 2 keV) X-ray emission. Using EUV data acquired with the Extreme Ultraviolet Explorer satellite, we will fit the EUV and X-ray spectra, both at high spectral resolution, simultaneously against thermal models to determine the distribution of temperatures in the corona of this star. ******************************************************
