    We propose to map the abundance structure of the intracluster medium
    in the Perseus cluster at large distances from the cluster center.
    This study will complement observations made during the PV phase
    which are located at or near the cluster center. We request 4 observa
    tions of 20ksec each and located 23-50'(0.75-1.6 Mpc, Ho=50 km/s/Mpc)
    to the west and north of NGC 1275.  These data will be used to deter-
    mine the variation in the abundance and temperature with radius and
    possibly measure the rotational velocity of the cluster gas.  In add-
    ition, interactions between the gas and individual galaxies such as
    IC 310will be studied.  Together with our ROSAT data, these results
    will produce a comprehensive picture of the intracluster gas at large
   radii.
