    We propose to measure the xray spectra of a sample of Seyfert 2 galax
    ies to investigate the model comprising a dense molecular torus surro
    unding a small nuclear xray source,plus a scattering zone along the a
    xis of the torus.In this picture,a low energy cut-off in the spectrum
    of the directly viewed x-ray source is expected due to photoelectric
    absorption by gas in the torus.A soft x-ray continuum component and
    strong FeK$\alpha$ line emission are also expected via electron scatt
    ering of nuclear x-rays by the reflection zone.We propose to search
    for these x-ray spectral features in a sample of Seyfert 2's which do
    {\it not}display the optical and radio characteristics expected from
    the above model.Thus,these observations will provide a test of the va
   lidity of the model to all Sey
