    We propose to use ASTRO-D to obtain 1--10\,keV spectra of the bright-
    est Narrow Line Radio galaxies detected by {\sl Einstein\/}. By prov-
    iding spectral information for these objects for the first time,these
    observations will distinguish between an electron-scattered and a
    transmitted origin of their X-ray emission, and through comparisons
    with existing data for Seyfert galaxies and quasars, thereby enable
    us to test some of the implications of ``unified schemes'' of active
    galaxies.
