      We propose to study the high luminosity AGN MKN 205, elucidating
    complex features in the X-ray spectrum, detected but not constrained
    by GINGA.The combination of broad bandpass, energy resolution, low
    background and sensitivity of ASCA will enable superlative measure-
    ments of the continuum form. MKN 205 was one of only three high
    luminosity AGN which showed strong evidence for Fe K line emission;
    ASCA will be able to measure the energy and width for the first time.
    The study will thus place strong constraints on the physical
    conditions in the active nucleus.
