****************************************************** PR # 12219 WR140=HD193793 (WC7+O4-5) went through the periastron of its highly eccentric 7.94-year orbit in March 1993 when the bright X-ray source would have been heavily obscured beneath the Wolf-Rayet wind. We plan to observe its steady reemergence as the companion stars retreat en- abling studies to be made of the system geometry; the binary separat- ion dependence of the colliding-winds X-ray luminosity; and the chemi cal composition of Carbon-sequence Wolf-Rayet stars. These measure- ments will underpin much recent theoretical work on colliding winds in hot-star binaries and provide benchmarks for stellar evolution calculations. ******************************************************
