   PR # 12232
     We propose to observe with ASCA three BL Lac objects,H1426+428, PKS
    2005-489, and I Zw 187,in order to study discrete absorption features
    and the shape of the continuum in the 0.5 -- 10 keV range.  An absorp
    tion feature around 0.6 keV, similar to the one observed in PKS 2155-
    304,was revealed by BBXRT observations of H1426+428, though with low
    S/N.No high resolution data are available for PKS 2005-489 and I Zw
    187.The goals of the observations are: 1) to measure the parameters
    of the absorption feature in H1426+428; 2) search for other possibly
    associated absorption features in the same object; 3) search for
    absorption features in the other two objects; and 4) discuss models
    for the continuum.
