****************************************************** PR # 139 The 2.86 day eclipsing binary Algol will be observed through its secondaryeclipse. This system contains a B+K star binary, with strong coronal X-raysthought to originate from the G star. An observation through the eclipse ofthe G star by the B offers an opportunity to measure the spatial structureof the coronal X-ray emission. EXOSAT observations have suggested the 30million degree emission comes from a region comparable in size to thebinary separation. The increased sensitivity of ASCA will give anunprecedented X-ray spectrum as a function of binary phase. ******************************************************
