     We propose to observe two Algol-type systems to investigate coronal 
    X-ray emission from the secondaries.  The extended energy band and   
    improved spectral response of ASCA will let us clarify the general   
    debate over possible non-solar abundances in semi-detached systems,  
    and test a single temperature distribution model.  Also, we will     
    investigate evolutionary differences between systems with similar    
    mass ratios but different periods. The one day observation of DI Peg 
    will completely cover one phase cycle and provide the first X-ray    
    data on this system.  Delta Lib has been well studied by Einstein and
    ROSAT, and has a chance of showing flaring or solar  spot behavior in
    addition to providing good spectral data.
