****************************************************** PR # 21087 NGC4418 is known as a normal spiral galaxy by its optical image. But this galaxy has shown interesting characteristics by other wavelength observations; (1)One of the IRAS bright galaxies(10^11 solar luminosi ty), and "warm" FIR color, (2)Strong silicate absorption at mid-IR range, (3)No ionic lines and dust emission feature related to starbur st in optical & infrared spectra, (4)Quite high L(FIR)/M(H2) ratio than other luminous IRAS galaxies, (5)copact radio core and high brightness temperature. These characteristics favor the presence of "hidden AGN" in this galaxy, but this is not clear yet. The ASCA observation will reveal whether AGN is existence or not in NGC4418. ******************************************************
