   PR # 21191
     "The 5-kpc Arm" is known to be a very active region in the wide wave
    length.  In fact, with ASCA, we have discoverd one transient source  
    and 5 faint object, one of which seems a new SNR. This demonstrate th
    at the ASCA is ideally suited  to discover new phenomenon from the   
    Galactic plane. Our particular aim of the  AO2 observation is to     
    survey the l  $@!A (J 335 deg region and study whether this  region  
    shows similar structure and activity as the "5-kpc Arm". This may    
    provide us with a new understanding of the structure of the Galactic 
    ridge.
