    We propose to observe the nearby solar-like stars Procyon, Epsilon   
    Eri, and Alpha Cen with the ASCA SIS. These stars are the best       
    examples of moderately active star, with X-ray properties very       
    similar to those of the Sun. The objects have so far not been studied
    with high spectral resolution at X-ray wavelengths; the best X-ray   
    spectra available to date are those obtained with the ROSAT PSPC.Our 
    EUVE spectra indicate the presence of iron in ionization stagesup to 
    FeXVI, while FeXVII and higher states of ionization are notfound. In 
    the ASCA spectra we wish to detect the expected strongFeXVII lines at
    0.72 and 0.8 keV, and search for the signaturesof even hotter plasma.
