****************************************************** PR # 21525 We propose ASCA observations of 3 unusual Seyfert galaxies identified from the ROSAT EUV Sky Survey. All 3 objects have remarkably strong soft X-ray spectra, with a ratio of 0.1-1 to 1-2 keV fluxes an order of magnitude greater than for Seyferts in general. The intriguing similarity of this- and other- properties to the galactic black hole binary sources suggests these 3 Seyferts represent a (clearly quite rare) class of AGN operating at a high, perhaps Eddington-limited accretion rate. The wider astrophysical potential of establishing the existence (and signature) of bi-modal accretion in AGN is clear. The need now is to observe the spectra form of these sources above 2 keV, where the effects of cooling by the strong flux of soft photons should be evident. ******************************************************
