****************************************************** PR # 22043 We propose to use ASCA to study HT Cas, the brightest hard X-ray source among deeply eclipsing dwarf novae. We have detected the eclipse at the 3.8$\sigma$ level, in a ROSAT observation when the system was in an unusual low state. We will repeat the experiment in a normal state and extending to higher energies; we will also achieve a higher S/N with ASCA. In addition, the superior spectroscopic capability of ASCA will be used to investigate the physics of X-ray emission; we were unable to distinguish among different models with the ROSAT data. ******************************************************
