    We propose ASCA observations of 2 intermediate polars giving         
    spectroscopy with sufficient statistics to resolve the spin cycles.  
    Our targets have a very typical spin pulse (AO Psc) and a very       
    unusual one (RE0751+14), giving a thorough investigation of the      
    spin-pulse mechanisms. Previous data from EXOSAT and Ginga have      
    failed to distinguish between different mechanisms which could be    
    causing the spin-pulses - either variable, patchy absorption or      
    multi-temperature bremsstrahlungs are compatible with the            
    low-resolution data. The high resolution of ASCA will distinguish    
    between the models and identify the cause of the spin-pulsations.
