****************************************************** PR # 22095 We propose observations of a group of Vela-like ($\tau = {P\over 2\dot{P}} \sim$ 20,000 years) pulsars: PSR 1706-44, PSR 1823-13, PSR 1046-58, and PSR 1727-33. The goals of the observation will be to detect pulsations at the radio period and determine the character- istics of the high energy component of the spectrum. We will be sensitive to pulsed fractions between $\geq$ 5\% (PSR 1706-44) and $\geq$ 10\% (PSR 1727-33). The counts acquired will be sufficient to place reasonable constraints on the spectrum. By exploiting the large FOV of the GIS a secondary goal will be to search for extended emission from an associated supernova remnant. The study proposed here will help fill in the gap in the X-ray database between the young and intermediate aged ******************************************************
