****************************************************** PR # 22137 As part of a program to identify potential contributors to the X-ray background with the necessary spectral and spatial properties,we have recently discovered a remarkable X-ray galaxy, RASS 1011+1736. The optical spectrum of this object shows clear evidence for both vigor- ous starburst activity and a weak or obscured active nucleus. Its soft X-ray luminosity, however, is $>$ 5 $\times$ 10$^{43}$ erg s$^{-1}$, vastly greater than that typical of either of these source classes. We propose to obtain an ASCA spectrum which will allow us to deter- mine whether this object is the most luminous starburst known, the most luminous Seyfert 2,{\it or both}, as well as to assess the potential contribution such objects can make to ******************************************************
