****************************************************** PR # 22149 Ginga showed that Seyfert 1 galaxies commonly possess an iron K emission line of equivalent width ~150 eV. EXOSAT data, however, shows that Mkn290 has a significant iron K emission line of equivalent width 1.2 keV. High equivalent width low energy iron lines are pre- dicted from photoionized accretion disk models. We request a 50 ksec SIS+GIS observation of Mkn290 to study the iron K line and determine whether its origin is in an accretion disk or a partial covering absorber. ******************************************************
