****************************************************** PR # 22176 {\it ROSAT} observations have shown that nearby radio galaxies with prominent cores and jets contain multiple spectral and spatial components. Even the unresolved component's spectrum is more complicated than simple power law or thermal emission, but the limited spectral capabilities of the PSPC do not allow an unambiguous spectral decomposition. Here we propose ASCA observations of the two brightest radio galaxies, for which we have extensive {\it ROSAT} datasets and which show strong spectral and spatial structures. The ASCA spectra will characterize the emission mechanisms without ambiguity, and the imaging capability will place constraints on the extended components, which are believed to arise from hot gas in the associated groups. ******************************************************
