****************************************************** PR # 29 Besides having the shortest known X-ray dipping period, XB 1916-053 is quiteintriguing in that its bursts tend to cluster around the dips, sometimesoccuring within the dip itself. X-ray spectra obtained during the dips, bursts, and otherwise will place limits on models explaining this clustering.XB 1916-053 is marginally underabundant in metals. Previous detectors have been unable to resolve lines from this source. A sensitive search for low-level line emission at 6.7 keV and at energies <2 keV would be an effective demonstration of the power of the Asuka's instrumentation and would be apowerful probe in determining the metal abundance of the accreting plasma inXB 1916-053. ******************************************************
