****************************************************** PR # 30 The purpose of this observation is to determine the line to continuum ratio inthe 0.5 - 1 keV region of a typical spot in the galactic plane where there areno bright sources. There are no noticeable changes in intensity of the 0.5 - 1keV flux as you cross the galactic plane along the galactic longitude of 300degrees. This is surprising, since the mean free path in the galactic plane isabout 1 kpc and extragalactic sources should be absorbed and go away in theplane. On the other hand galactic sources should be highest in the plane, andall important galactic sources are thermal, so they should be all in lines. So there is a definite prediction of a spectral change in and out of the plane. ******************************************************
