****************************************************** PR # 31010 Evolutionary models predict that some Wolf-Rayet (WR) stars should be left with compact companions following a supernova explosion of the primary in a WR + O system. However, few WR + c systems have been id entified, with the WN + c system Cyg X-3 being the most convincing ca ndidate. Here, we propose to obtain 30 ksec observations of two other WN + c candidates which show peculiar X-ray and radio behavior- WR6 (EZ CMa) and WR147 (AS431). We will search for hard X-rays and time variability that should be present if the companions are compact obj ects accreting from the Wolf-Rayet wind. ******************************************************
