     We propose to observe 3 fields of view toward the Taurus Molecular cl       
     oud in order to investigate physical properties of magnetic boundary        
     layers around T Tauri stars.  The 3 fields contains at least 26 T Tau       
     ri (& proto) stars discernible with the ASCA GIS detectors.  The high       
      capability of ASCA will enable us to make statistical studies of mag       
     natic activities of T Tauri stars in relation to their accretion disk       
     s and evolutionary status, providing us a unique opportunity to under       
     stand the physical conditions and structure of magnetic boundary laye       
     rs as well as the X-ray emission mechanism from the magnetosphere aro
