     AM Her is the prototype of "Polar", a subcategoly of Magnetic Catacly       
     smic Variables. It is wellknown that "Polar" has a very intense soft        
     X-ray emission whose spectrum is represented by the blackbody radiati       
     on with a temperature of some tens of eV. Its intensity is, however,        
     too strong than what is expected from the standard theory. This quest       
     ion has long been alive mainly because  the lack of precise soft X-ra       
     y measurement. We propose to observe  AM Her simultaneously with ASTR       
     O-2 HUT in order to measure the  temperature and the luminosity of th       
     e soft X-ray component as well  as those of the hard X-ray bremsstrah       
     lung component to resolve this question. From this observation we can       
      also obtain the shock temperature, which leads to the detemination o       
    f the mass of the white dwarf
