****************************************************** PR # 31097 We propose to observe the irregular-type (IR) SNR, HB-9. While HB-9 is typical shell structure at radio wavelength, it is classified as o ne of center-filled SNRs at X-ray wavelength. We have already observ ed 3 IR SNRs with ASCA and each extent of X-ray above 1keV is larger than that obtained with Einstein/IPC. So, we suppose that most of IR SNRs are shell-type as shown at radio wavelength, and the outer regi on of them, where the electron temperature is low, are extincted by l arge neutral H column density (~10E22 /cm2). To prove our assumption, we propose to observe the IR SNRs systematically. HB-9 is the most s uitable target for ASCA at the point of view of its size and surface brightness. ******************************************************
