     We propose to observe 29 UW canis Major near primary and secondary mi       
     nimum for 20 and 30 ksec eash respectively.  From our ROSAT  observat       
     ions we find an X-ray maximum at the primary minimum and vice versa,        
     in contrast to expecations from the colliding wind scenario.  The pro       
     posed ASCA observations will decide whether the observed X-ray variat
