****************************************************** PR # 31521 A low surface brightness, extended, soft X-ray source has recently b een discovered with ROSAT. We believe the object is in all likelihood an uncatalogued galactic supernova remnant of a new type which shows low radio emission. The excellent spectral response of ASCA will cl early identify the nature of the X-ray emission and enable the analy sis of several hotspots which appear to be embedded in the wider X-r ay halo. We request a 30 ks observation (which will complement the pr eviously accepted pointing) in order to determine the spectral proper ties of the entire object. ******************************************************
