****************************************************** PR # 31523 The 10 youngest pulsars of the most recent radio catalog are associat ed with a SNR of comparable age and distance. Since many associations have been proposed very recently, their coverage in X-ray is missing . Seven of the ten associations are already in the ASCA target list; here we propose to complete the sample and observe, with pointing of 40000 sec each, the three remaining associations, namely: G308.8-01 /PSR1338-62, G5.4-1.2/PSR1757-24, and W30/PSR1800-21. The X-ray dat a are expected to yield precious information on the pulsar as well a s on the SNR emission mechanisms. Moreover, the interactions between the young pulsars and the remnants could be investigated. Because of this, we give the highest priority to the observation of PSR1757-24/ G5.4-1.2. ******************************************************
