     According to hierarchical models of structure formation, rich cluster       
      of gaaxies are growing through mergers of poorer sytems and this pro       
     - cess is expected to be still on-going at the present epoch.  A pro-       
      totypical case of a nearby merger, the system A2572/HCG94 has been d       
     etected in the ROSAT all-sky survey and has been the target of a  32        
     ksec obseravtion with ROSAT PSPC in which this system was found in fa       
     act triple.  Due to its proximity and complexity, it represents an id       
     eal tgt for study of the dynamics of merging events, and there in par       
     ticular of how the merger disturbs the temp and metal dist. in the ga       
     eous intra-cluster medium.  Any gradients in these quantities would g       
     reatly affect the resultant mass dist. derived from the x-ray data an
