****************************************************** PR # 32029 We wish to continue our program to understand the X-ray spectrum from O stars by observing Zeta Oph (O9.5V) with ASCA. Zeta Oph is the brightest single main sequence O star. The ASCA spectrum will be compared with ASCA X-ray spectra of the O giants Delta Ori, Lambda Ori (obtained in AO1), Zeta Pup (PV observation) and Zeta Ori (to be obtained in AO2) to look for dependence of the X-ray spectra on luminosity class and/or stellar wind mass-loss rate. In particular, the ASCA spectra will be used to address the following questions: 1) What is the temperature distribution of the hot plasma? 2) Does the observed line emission indicate any evidence of chemical peculiarities similar to those seen in the ASCA spectrum of Delta Or iand Lambda? 3) What is the le ******************************************************
