****************************************************** PR # 32048 We propose to observe the intermediate polar BG CMi with ASCA to cover all orbital phases. X-ray observations have shown the 3.23 hr orbital period, 913 s spin period and sideband periods, while optical data show very complex periodograms. We will use Fourier analysis at different energy bands to ascertain which periodicites are present at what energy ranges. We will then use this to guide our phase-resolved spectroscopy, with the aim of studying temperature, Nh and normalization as function of orbital and spin phases. The ultimate goal of our proposal is to investigate whether accretion occurs via a disk or not, or some mixture of both. ******************************************************
