****************************************************** PR # 32082 Gamma Cas was the first Be star to be discovered and has been extensively studied in the optical for over 100 years. It is also a well-known X-ray source and is thought to contain a compact object - based mainly on its similarity to X Per. However, unlike other members of the Be/neutron star class a strong iron line has been detected in the X-ray spectrum of Gamma Cas. Here we propose to study this line in detail utilizing the excellent spectral resolution of the SIS detectors. ******************************************************
