     We propose  a series of   ASCA observations in fields containing            
     three  time variable unidentified  EGRET sources near the galactic          
     plane (GRO J1813-12,  GRO J1021-58, GRO J2019+37).  The nature of           
     these sources is currently unknown and information provided by   ASCA       
     will greatly help in the interpretation of these sources.   Our             
     observing program is related to ongoing projects involving archival         
     and current EGRET, BATSE and ROSAT data on these sources.  The source       
     GRO J1813-12 is of particular interest because of its observed              
     gamma-ray variability by more than a factor of 3 within a few months
