****************************************************** PR # 32117 We propose ASCA observations of two Balmer-dominated remnants in the LMC, which are the only remaining members of this class in the Local Group not yet observed by ASCA. The spectra, when analyzed in the context of our nonequilibrium ionization model, will allow determination of temperatures, emission measures, ionization timescales, and elemental abundances. The former three quantities, in conjunction with published results, will allow the complete specification of the dynamical state of the remnants, within the context of Sedov phase evolution. From the abundances, we will confirm whether these remnants were the product of Type Ia supernova explosions, as recent ASCA results on other Balmer-dominated remnants in the LMC strongly suggest. ******************************************************
